There are numerous assistive tools available to help make technology accessible to all. The tools listed on this site are not an all-inclusive list, but only a sampling of what is available including vendors' names and information. Communication is a right for everyone, but not everyone uses their voice to communicate. Picture symbols, sign language, and speaking devices are only a few of the alternatives available. Boardmaker, Slater Software Dynamic Devices: PRC, Dynavox, Tango! Static Devices: Enabling Devices, AMDI Microsoft Accessibility is the first step to making the computer easier to use. Alternative keyboards, mice, and switch interfaces can all be used to provide individuals with motor impairments easier access to the computer. There are numerous software and FREE tools to make it easier to see the monitor, hear computer sounds, or navigate programs. Smart Navigate, Quick Glance, Gus Software Public education requires all students be able to access their curriculum. For some students this may mean they need eletronic texts, writing supports, or simple solutions like pencil grips, page turners, and magnifiers.
